About
Dr. Kary Taylor received his dental degree from the University of California, San Francisco in 1978 and opened his private practice in Vancouver in 1980. He founded Harbour Centre Dental in downtown Vancouver until 2012 when he sold it and started working as a freelance associate dentist. He has worked primarily in the non-profit dental sector since augmented by locums in various private practices. Dr. Taylor also volunteers with Vancouver Aboriginal Health Society’s Dental Clinic on Hastings St. in Vancouver. He was the 2021- 2022 President of the Vancouver District Dental Society, a non-profit society which produces live and online continuing education courses for dentists and the dental community. He currently is in the planning phase of establishing a social enterprise-designed (low-cost) dental clinic. His special dental interests are sleep apnea therapy and affordable dental care for the underserved along with medically compromised dental treatment concerns. Kary’s current vision as it pertains to Black Canadian Healthcare Professionals is to help facilitate the interest of young African Canadians in careers in dentistry.
